by Ludmila on Dec.17, 2009, under Music, Uncategorized
Linkin Park is a band from California formed in 1996 by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Rob Bourdon, Mr. Hahn. In 1999 they recruited Chester Bennington to make vocals with his extremelly particular voice so they mixed un metal and rap rock genres to make their own style and made the amazing álbum Hybrid Theory. Then the band started to grow and have many fans all over the world. Many albums followed this first one but for me this is the best one. Here you have a video I hope you enjoy

Killing in the name
That’s one of my favorite Rage Against The Machine’s scream…. It says it clearly: Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me, and they didn’t. As everybody knows RATM was always in opposition to globalization and capitalism, they were always making shows to help people, to complain about something or to collect money for a good cause.
With their first performance in somebody’s living room in the OC of California and with their self produced first cassette they started their career in 1991, becoming a great band heard all around the world. They disbanded in 2000 and announced their return on April of 2007 playing at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival and after that they kept playing in some concerts and maybe we are lucky and they record a new album.
This unique band from USA was founded by Tom Morello and Zack de la Rocha together with Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk wth a particular style and a fantastic fusion of funk, rap, punk, hip hop and hard rock.
They are so unique that after 9/11 attacks, Clear Channel creates a list of “songs with questionable lyrics.” RATM has the distinction of being the only band to have all its songs on the list.
I leave you my two favorite songs for you…
Enjoy

The last wish
by Ludmila on Aug.06, 2009, under Music, Uncategorized
Today I woke up with this thing in my head, what could it be my last wish. I started to think my most precious desire but I couldn’t figure it out. So it came to my mind this song Justin (by Korn). Justin was a little boy who was diagnosed with intestinal cancer, a terminal illness and his last wish when he knew ha was going to die was to meet the members of his favorite band Korn. This wish reached Jonathan Davis and this is what he thought about it:
“Justin’s dying wish was to meet us and it really freaked me out. It threw a whole new kind of pressures on my head. That’s really intense. Someone’s going to die and the last thing he wants to do is come hang out with us. So I truly just freaked out. It’s like why would you want to meet me? What makes me so special? And in turn I talk about how I admire his courage and his life. I couldn’t stare at him because he was so content with the fact that he was dying. None of us could look him in the eyes. And I totally admire his strength. I wish I had it.”
This made me think how humble they was to admire Justin and how Justin admired them so much. Life is a crazy thing we must enjoy.
Korn made a song called Justin on their Follow the Leadear album, here are the lyrics look carefully at it, it al make sense.
~*~ Justin ~*~
Fuck all that bullshit!
You watch me play.
I look away.
Your lights turn bright.
You found the light.
Take, off in space. You and I.
Time, off in space. You and I.
You’re gonna die!
Wanna meet me, why?
I wish I had your strength
Inside your soul escapes.
Take, off in space. You and I.
Time, off in space. You and I.
Cry, into me.
Help me…
Something…
For all!
The kids that die listening to me.
You are alive!
Time, off in space. You and I stay….
Disturbed

Indestructible
As everybody knows Disturbed is an alternative metal band that has its origins in Chicago Illinois in 1996 when Dan Donegan, Steve “Fuzz” Kmaky and Mike Wendren made an announcement that they were looking for a vocalist and here is when David Draiman appeared. Disturbed was already formed with strong influences of the 90´s heavy metal adding solos and technical riffs of guitar.
The first years were really hard, recording two EP which were sent to different discographers. The band achieve the success in 2000 when they released the single “Stupify” followed by their album The Sickness, this finally launched them to success. In 2002 their second album “Believe” made its debut with a great success reaching the number one on the hit lists.
In 2005 and 2006 they had to postpone their Europe tour due to David vocal problems.
During the 2008 they release their new album Indestructible produced by themselves which go back to their origins that made them famous.
Here I leave you two of the Indestructible album videos, I hope you enjoy.
